Provisional Ballot Status

The Secretary of State's office has established a toll-free hotline for voters who cast provisional ballots in the November 6, 2018 election to determine whether their ballots were counted and, if not, the reason why. Voters can also use the contact the Atkinson County Board of Elections at 912-422-3003 to check on the status of their provisional ballots. Under O.C.G.A. 21-2-418 (e), all 159 Georgia counties must offer a free access system, such as a toll-free number or website, for a voter who cast a provisional ballot in an election, primary, or run-off with a federal candidate on the ballot to determine whether his or her provisional ballot was counted and, if not, the reason why such ballot was not counted. A brief history

Atkinson County is Georgia's 153rd county and covers an area of 338 square miles. It was created from portions of Clinch and Coffee counties. It was named for William Y. Atkinson, governor from 1894 to 1898. Pearson has served as the county seat since its creation.
